Vote for Housing Matters' Short Film!
Our amazing partner Housing Matters was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to make a 60-second short film in partnership with the Media Trust in summer.
We're very excited that it's up for a Smiley Charity Film Award - we’ve been informed this is the "Oscars of charity film"!
You can watch the film and vote here.
About the film:
"Created with input from our former clients, the film is about the emotional impact of housing insecurity. No matter how hard people try to keep things feeling 'normal', anxiety seeps into every moment.
Maybe they're waiting for bailiffs to turn up, or maybe they're living in damp and mould.
Lots of people are homeless: 'living in limbo' in temporary accommodation, not knowing when they're going to be moved onto another temporary property or access a permanent home.
Many of our clients are in highly unsuitable housing - without disabled access or in an area where they experience racial harassment.
And for the most part, this goes unseen by the rest of society. We made our film to start to change this."
Please do share this widely to spread Housing Matters’s key messages:
The emotional impact of housing insecurity
The prevalence of housing insecurity in Bristol
The broad range backgrounds of those affected by housing insecurity and homelessness
