Monday Motivation #ActiveLockleaze Project: RISE Youth Dance
As part of our partnership project #ActiveLockleaze we like to feature regular posts for our Monday Motivation or Spotlight On section. This is just one of the ways we promote physical activities and sports opportunities in Lockleaze. By sharing providers and participants' personal stories we aim to inspire and motivate and encourage all residents to lead more active lives.
This week we focus on RISE Youth Dance.
Dance has always been at the heart of the Lockleaze community, and RISE Youth Dance is proud to bring people of all ages together through movement. Whether you’re a child bursting with creativity or an adult looking for a fun way to stay active, RISE offers inclusive, confidence-boosting classes that focus on movement, connection, and well-being.
Our newest class, Movement Mashup, is a dance fitness session designed for adults who want to stay active in a fun and supportive environment. Held every Tuesday from 6-7pm at St Mary St James Church, this class is all about good vibes, big tunes, and feeling fantastic - no dance experience needed! Dance isn’t just a great workout—it also boosts mood, relieves stress, and improves mental well-being. Whether you're looking to build confidence, move at your own pace, or simply enjoy an uplifting workout, this class is for you. After a short half-term break, we’re back on Tuesday 25th February, so why not come along and give it a go?
For younger dancers, Early RISERS and RISE Juniors are fun, engaging classes that offer children aged 6-10 years the chance to experience the amazing benefits of dance. Held every Saturday at The Hub from 9:30am, these sessions focus on building confidence, making new friends, and exploring contemporary dance in a supportive and exciting environment. RISE believes every child should have access to dance, which is why bursary places and free trials are offered - that way you can make sure RISE is the right fit for you!
Want to see RISE in action? Our annual show, REACH, is happening on March 22nd & 23rd at Trinity Academy, with two unique performances celebrating the different generations of RISE. Tickets are available now on Headfirst - don’t miss out! So, whether you're looking for an engaging activity for your child, a fun way to get moving, or some fantastic entertainment, RISE has something for you!
